Career Transition Agreement

Career transitions can help you build your future, advance your career, and make a difference. The agreement is signed between you, the Deputy Director of your home organization and the Director of the host organization. Transition to employment – is a situation that arises when the President decides that the services of one or more unspecified collaborators are no longer needed beyond a given date due to a lack of work or the termination of a function within the Agency. These situations may arise for reasons, including, but not limited to, those mentioned in the “Directive” section. It is the policy of the Canadian Food Inspection Agency to maximize employment opportunities for non-determined employees in job transfer situations, including by ensuring that they are offered, to the extent possible, alternative employment opportunities. Organizations can use the Job Enrichment, Talent Management or Skills Exchange program.
